Bernhard Asmus von Zastrow (* 1696 in Kölpin in the Neustettin district ; † April 25, 1757 near Aussig ) was a Prussian major general .

Bernhard Asmus von Zastrow came from the noble family Zastrow , he was a son of Bernd Christian von Zastrow (1644-1717), heir to Kölpin, Bärwalde and Neuhof, and Margarethe Hedwig von Hechthausen adH Zarnewantz . He was married to Ermuthe Sophie von Bose (1706–1765).

Life

First, Zastrow was a page with Georg I in Hanover for eight years . In 1716 he was in the rank of ensign in the Prussian army with the regiment No. 24 “v. Schwendy ”. In 1740 he was promoted to captain, in the same year to major . In 1742 Zastrow distinguished himself in the battle of Chotusitz , was wounded and then received the order Pour le Mérite . In 1745 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and in 1747 to colonel . In the same year he became city commander of Frankfurt , succeeding Major Friedrich Julius von Schwerin in this office and moving into the commandant's house at Oderstrasse 27. In 1756 Zastrow was promoted to major general and chief of infantry regiment No. 20 . On the march of his regiment from Aussig to Lowositz, when crossing the Elbe , hit by a musket ball , Zastrow fell in the Seven Years' War . He was buried in the church of Gottleuba.
