Bernhard von der Marwitz

Bernhard von der Marwitz (born February 12, 1824 in Frankfurt (Oder) , Brandenburg province ; † March 31, 1880 at Gut Friedersdorf , Lebus district , Brandenburg province) was a Prussian district administrator in the Lebus district and a politician.

He came from the old noble family von der Marwitz from Neumark (Brandenburg province) with the same ancestral home near Landsberg an der Warthe , first mentioned in 1259, and was the youngest son of the Prussian lieutenant general Friedrich August Ludwig von der Marwitz (1777-1837) and his second wife Charlotte Countess von Moltke (1780–1848).

Marwitz was married on April 26, 1848 at Gut Criewen Marie von Arnim (born December 3, 1830 at Gut Criewen; † March 25, 1853 at Gut Friedersdorf), the daughter of Lieutenant Colonel and landowner Otto von Arnim, landlord on Criewen, and Caroline Ballerstedt . The daughter of the couple Charlotte Marie Sybille (born March 7, 1849) married Ludwig August Wilhelm von Minnigerode (born October 19, 1844) in 1873 , the brother of the MP Wilhelm von Minnigerode .

His second marriage was on December 8, 1858 at Gut Kunersdorf near Wriezen ( Märkisch-Oderland district , Brandenburg), Countess Marie von Itzenplitz (* December 24, 1833 in Stettin ; † February 16, 1914 at Gut Friedersdorf), the daughter of the Minister of State Heinrich Graf von Itzenplitz (1799–1883) and Luise Freiin von Sierstorpff (Driburg House).

Life

Marwitz was a royal Prussian cavalry captain , majorate in Friedersdorf and from February 1860 district administrator of the Lebus district. He was a knight of honor of the Order of St. John and a member of the Prussian manor house .
