activity

Bertram Kropac was initially the cameraman for numerous prime time documentaries for ARD , ZDF , the Discovery Channel and the History Channel as well as for RTL, he was also responsible for the image design of the 35mm short film Night Train (2000). In the same year, Bertram Kropac made an image film about the first SUV from the sports car manufacturer Porsche : Development and design of the Porsche Cayenne and thus set his starting point as an expert in innovative moving image production for the automotive industry.

Bertram Kropac was particularly concerned with the new S3D image design and ultra high definition video in 4K to 8K resolution. These technologies were initially used in premium trade fair films: on the 20 meter wide LED presentation walls, the difference in quality between the high-resolution graphics generated entirely on the computer and the original film image became so clear that the Ultra HD format was also required for real image production; in the stereoscopic area also with double the data volume. In this respect, Kropac initially shot the majority of his technically innovative films for industry, especially for the Volkswagen Group and for Audi: for example, in 2013 the realization of the world's first 3D exhibition film for the automotive industry. The premiere of the new Audi A3, driven by DTM champion Mike Rockenfeller , took place at the Geneva Motor Show on a 3D LED wall measuring over 40 square meters.

Parallel to the three-dimensional film technology Berti Kropac trod the path to Ultra HD technology up to 8K images using special cameras and editing suites for native 4K post-production: For Sky Germany Bertram Kropac led the first test shoot in future Ultra HD TV format using the example of the Bundesliga match of FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund on December 1st, 2012. The following year he designed the Ultra HD images for the Audi A8 for the IAA .

Although the profitability of the new video technology could initially only be ensured with industrial film productions, Berti Kropac continued to work as a cameraman for television projects in the nature, adventure and sports genres. Including: So much do you live (2008), 75 min. For ARD and for ZDF as part of Adventure Knowledge : CERN - the world's largest experiment also as part of the Terra X expedition into the unknown - wild planet: Vesuvius powder keg and danger for Lisbon and 2009: earthquake alarm in Tokyo . In the following year he accompanied Markus Lanz for the 45-minute ZDF documentary Sehnsucht nach Greenland .

In Austria, Kropac produced a 90-minute HD movie about Harry Berger's first rope-free single ascent of the 270 meter high supervisor in Pongau . Supervisor - Solo in the Ice (2011) is about ice climbing on one of the most difficult waterfalls in the world. After three years of preparation and in joint direction with his wife Kerstin, Berti Kropac shed light on the personal backgrounds and motivations of mountaineer Harry Berger and accompanied his extreme climbing tour up close.

By the end of 2013, Kropac's filmography as a cameraman comprised around 20 television productions. In addition, there are more than 200 business films produced at trade fairs and the like. a. can be used in Shanghai, Las Vegas, Detroit, Paris, Geneva as well as in showrooms or in-house communication channels.

At the beginning of 2014, Bertram Kropac was engaged in the production of ultra-sharp 8K recordings of the so-called Big Five in South Africa.
