Population forecast Hessen

The current population forecast for Hesse was compiled by the Hessian State Statistical Office on the basis of the regionalized 13th coordinated population forecast of the Federal Statistical Office . It was published in May 2016 and contains forecasts up to 2030 based on the population of the urban and rural districts as of December 31, 2014. The forecast assumes that the birth rate will remain constant, the life expectancy of male and female newborns by three and two respectively Years and net migration increases.

On a national average, the population is expected to increase by 4.4 percent by 2030, with the decrease in the northern half being much greater.

Under these assumptions, the total population of Hesse will increase from 6,093,888 to around 6.36 million by 2030. The average age will increase from 43.0 to 46.2 years.
