Big Baus of the Nauf is the fourth mixtape by the Hamburg rapper Samy Deluxe . It was released on March 31, 2006 through his label Deluxe Records .

Samy Deluxe itself and the Heatmakerz each produced three songs from the mixtape, while two beats each come from the music producers Monroe , Djorkaeff , Howie Like It , Rob Easy and Matbeats. Further instrumentals were contributed by DJ Dynamite , Killa Kela , DJ Mixwell and Audiotreats.

Cover design

The album cover shows Samy Deluxe wearing a white baseball cap and looking at the viewer. At the bottom right of the picture are the words Samy Deluxe in yellow and Big Baus of the Nauf in orange. Above it is an orange seal with the words Deluxe Records and Hamburgs Finest . At the top left you can see another seal with the lettering Volume 6 , which stands for the sixth mixtape that was published by Deluxe Records. The background is black, white and green.

In addition to Samy Deluxe, other artists are represented on five songs on the mixtape. The rapper Afrob is involved in the song Brandneu , while the British beatboxer Killa Kela appears on Digga miees . The track Sag es sag es is a collaboration with the German rapper Neo, and on Thank God Remix Samy Deluxe works with the US rapper JR Writer . The rappers Blade and Manuellsen can also be heard on Blade, Manuellsen and Deluxe .

Big Baus of the Nauf entered the German album charts at number 45 on April 14, 2006 and ranked 94 the following week before leaving the top 100. In Switzerland the mixtape reached position 96, while in Austria it could not place in the charts.

At the HipHop.de Awards 2006, Big Baus of the Nauf received the award for best mixtape .

reception

On the website rap.de was Big construction of the Nauf assessed positively. It is "a mixtape in album quality", which also convinces through "creativity and humor". Samy Deluxe rap with a sophisticated technique and the beats are also praised.
