The Biri Larosa Protected Landscape / Seascape is located in the Philippine Sea in the Northern Samar Province , Philippines . The combined land and marine reserve was established on April 23, 2000. It comprises 18 islands which include Cabaungon Grande, Cabaungon Pequiño, Tandang, Pangilala, Puropangdan, Matungko and Maghungaw and others, as well as parts of the north coast of Samar Island . This group of islands is also known as the Balicuartro Islands. The nature reserve belongs to the municipal areas of Lavezares , Rosario , San Jose , Biri and has a current size of 334.92 km². It was named after the island of Biri and Larosa.

The nature reserve is located approx. 60 km southeast of Sorsogon City . The archipelago can be reached from the ports of Lavezares. Around the 18 islands are smaller coral reefs and also numerous unique rock formations that are known as the geological wonders of the Philippines.
