Birkat Jozer Or

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Birkat Jozer Or ( Hebrew בִּרְכַּת יוֹצֵר אוֹר- The blessing for the creator of light) is part of the Jewish morning prayer Shacharit and the first of the two blessings that are recited immediately before the Shema Yisrael during Shacharit.

“Blessed are you [...] our God, King of the universe, who creates light and darkness, who makes peace and creates all things. You are blessed [...] who creates light. "

description

According to the Midrash, Adam and Eve were the first to recite this blessing when they were in the Garden of Eden.

Birkat Jozer contains the blessing for the sun, because the sun is indispensable for life. In this way, the sun provides the light that is required for all life on earth.

The first verse comes from ( Isa 45,7  EU ) and corresponds to the first section of the Schma.

The blessing includes two items. First, the divine wisdom is described, which is part of a cosmic order. Second, the angels are described. Thus the praise of the angels forms part of the kedusha .
