The Diocese of Mao-Monte Cristi ( lat. : Dioecesis Maoënsis-Montis Christ , span. : Diócesis de Mao-Monte Cristi ) is in the Dominican Republic situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Mao .

history

The diocese was founded on January 16, 1978 by Pope Paul VI. Established with the Papal Bull Studiosi instar from cession of territory of the Diocese of Santiago de los Caballeros and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo as a suffragan . On February 14, 1994, the diocese of Mao-Monte Cristi was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Santiago de los Caballeros as a suffragan.
