The Roman Catholic Diocese of La Vega ( lat. : Dioecesis Vegensis , span. : Diócesis de La Vega ) is one in the Dominican Republic situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Concepción de la Vega .
history
The diocese on September 25, 1953 by Pope Pius XII. built with the papal bull Si magna et excelsa from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo and subordinated to this as a suffragan . On January 16, 1978, the Diocese of La Vega gave up parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of San Francisco de Macorís . The diocese of La Vega was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Santiago de los Caballeros as a suffragan on February 14, 1994 .
