Bob Tway (born May 4, 1959 in Oklahoma City , Oklahoma ) is an American professional golfer of the PGA TOUR and belongs to the circle of major winners.
Career
When he was 5 years old, his father and grandfather taught him to play golf. At 7, Bob played his first tournament. He attended Oklahoma State University and became a professional golfer in 1981 .
From 1985 Tway played on the PGA TOUR and a year later he achieved his greatest success by winning the PGA Championship . This 1986 season was his best ever with three more tournament wins. In total, he has so far won eight major North American tournament series and his career prize money exceeds $ 14 million.
Bob Tway lives in Edmond , Oklahoma . His son Kevin won the US Junior Amateur Title on his 17th birthday in 2005 .
