Bodo Henkel

Bodo Henkel (born March 26, 1952 in Kiel ) is a German presenter and voice actor .

Life

Born in 1952 in Kiel, Henkel attended a secondary school and a photography school in Kiel and moved to Griesheim near Darmstadt in 1969 for a job as a photo machine technician . As a teenager he already worked as a DJ in Kiel and so he started a DJ career in discotheques in Griesheim and in the Odenwald .

In 1978 he took over the “Waterloo” discotheque in Ober-Ramstadt, increased it to 400 seats, and renamed it “The Jolly Jitterbugs Dancehouse” for short “JJ's”. For the first time he organized “variety evenings” and a. with world champions of magic like “Fee Eleisa” and Hans Moretti, who also showed the world premiere of his “Double Russian Roulette”, with which he defended his title in Brussels two weeks later. Henkel came to the radio in 1983 through radio presenter Heinz Siebeneicher , who was a regular at the disco in the Odenwald.

In 1984 he became a presenter at the first German private radio station, Radio Weinstrasse , which could only be received in the "cable pilot project Ludwigshafen - Vorderpfalz" . From October 28, 1985 to September 6, 1985, Radio Weinstrasse broadcast on the private airwaves for the first time in Germany on behalf of the AKK ( Institute for Cable Communication ). On October 28, 1985, he opened with the words “Welcome to the VIP lounge of the Hotel Excelsior on the occasion of the consumer fair Consumenta in the Eberthalle Ludwigshafen. You are listening to Radio Weinstrasse, Germany's first private radio station! My name is Bodo Henkel ”. This was later referred to as the “media big bang”.

After Radio Weinstrasse was taken over by Radio RPR in 1986 , he was considered the voice of the station and later became CVD and 2nd deputy editor-in-chief . Henkel then sold the discotheque in 1986.

From 1988 he presented several editions of the new edition of Der goldene Schuß on SAT.1 .

From 1990 onwards, the regional SAT.1 news program Wir im Südwesten for Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse followed, which was renamed Regional Report Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse during Henkel's time as a moderator and is now called 17:30 Sat.1 . He also moderated the SAT.1 summer festival in 1992 . At the end of 1995 he said goodbye to the audience after almost five years at regional report and almost seven years at SAT.1, and from January 1996 he said he would work more at the hit radio station RPR2, to which he switched from RPR1 in 1992. In the following year, however, he moderated three more programs of the regional report .

In the early 1990s he became a founding member of the Association of German Speakers . He worked at RPR2 until the station was discontinued in 2003. In 2006 and 2007 he could also be heard on harmony.fm for about a year .

Bodo Henkel has been synchronizing characters in various computer games since 1998 . He achieved great popularity among fans through his speaking role of the demon summoner Xardas in the computer game Gothic , which was released in 2001 . He continued this role in the following games in the Gothic series and could also be heard in the games Risen , Risen 2 and ELEX by developer Piranha Bytes .

He was also active as a speaker in various documentaries such as the Arte documentary Buffalo Bill in the Wild East and spoke various audio books such as Trümmerjunge or Hugo. The unworthy treasure that brought him first places in the charts, and at the author's request, Volker Ferkau's bestseller Alles auf Anfang . The latest audio book he has spoken (as of January 2020) is Der Käpt'n - Jenseits der See by Jörg Rönnau, published by Maximum Verlag 2020. He has also spoken in countless radio and TV commercials .

Henkel has been an off-speaker at the Störtebeker Festival in Ralswiek since 2014 .

Henkel is married for the third time. His wife is called Ingrid and he has two sons and a daughter.
