history
In 1968 Benefeld , Bomlitz, Borg (with Cordingen) and Uetzingen were merged to form a new municipality of Bomlitz . From the municipality reform, which came into force on March 1, 1974, until December 31, 2019, Bomlitz was one of eight suburbs of the Bomlitz community.
On January 1, 2020, the former municipality of Bomlitz merged with the city of Walsrode. The former districts of the previous municipality of Bomlitz - and thus also the core town of Bomlitz - thus became districts of Walsrode.
