Kirchboitzen is a district of Walsrode in the Heidekreis district , Lower Saxony .

The village is located southwest of the main town in the Lüneburg Heath , about 7 km from Walsrode. The L 160 and the federal road 209 meet in the village . It leads to the Walsrode-West junction of federal motorway 27 .

Kirchboitzen was first mentioned in a document in 1203.

On March 1, 1974, Kirchboitzen was incorporated into the city of Walsrode.

The St. Michaelis Church in Kirchboitzen was first mentioned in a document in 1203, but it was only built in its current form from 1862 to 1864. It burned down on April 15, 1945, so the tower helmet and fittings are from the time after.
