Schneeheide is a district of the town of Walsrode ( Heidekreis district , Lower Saxony ) in the Lüneburg Heath . The district has about 430 inhabitants on an area of 5.0 km².

The village of Schneeheide is largely located in the western triangle between the B 209 ( Nienburg / Weser –Walsrode) and the Autobahn 27 ( Bremen –Walsrode), west of the core area of the city of Walsrode. It is located south of Fulde on both sides of the district road 121, which leads from Schneeheide to Fulde.

history

Schneeheide was built between 1911 and 1914, it is the youngest village in the city of Walsrode. At that time the village was founded again. The name was first mentioned as early as 1491. In 1912, Schneeheide became an independent political municipality and, during the regional reform in Lower Saxony in 1974, it became a district of the city of Walsrode .

Economy and Infrastructure

In Schneeheide there is a multi-purpose hall , a cemetery with a cemetery chapel and the Walsrode disaster control center .

There are no street names in the village, only house numbers that residents, postmen, vendors and visitors have to orientate themselves by.

In Schneeheide there is a rifle club with a marching band and table tennis.

In addition, the association Dorfgemeinschaft Schneeheide e.V. was founded in 2011 to promote and maintain village culture. V. founded.

The multi-purpose hall is maintained by the rifle club and used regularly by the rural youth in Walsrode. The hall is also the home ground of TTSV Schneeheide 05.
