Borgisdorf is a village in the municipality of Niederer Fläming in the Teltow-Fläming district in the state of Brandenburg .

location

The place is ten kilometers south of the city of Jüterbog . In the north is the further district Hohengörsdorf . The districts of Werbig , Langenlipsdorf (to Niedergörsdorf), Welsickendorf , Höfgen , Hohenalsdorf and Bochow (to Niedergörsdorf) follow in a clockwise direction .

history

By archaeological investigations, a settlement was already in the Middle Ages are detected. At this time a tower hill was built, which in the 21st century lies in the middle of a village pond on the Anger . This probably served as a refuge and could be reached from the east side via the ford . Further finds allow conclusions to be drawn about a Slavic village. The parish assumes that a village church was built immediately after the Flemings immigrated from 1150 to 1160 . Borgisdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1283. During the Thirty Years' War the church was damaged and the apse torn down. In 1896 the parish had a 33 meter high west tower built.

Together with 13 other municipalities, the place formed the new municipality of Niederer Fläming on December 31, 1997 . Borgisdorf has been part of the Dahme / Mark office since January 1, 2018 .

Sights and culture

Village church from the east
  • The village church of Borgisdorf is a late Romanesque field stone building from the second half of the 13th century with a retracted choir . The church tower was built in 1896/1897. Inside there is a wooden altarpiece , which is believed to have been made by the sculptor JC Schütze in 1717.
  • A parish homestead including a half-timbered stable with an upper arcade documents the regional architecture and is one of the oldest buildings in the town. The Oberlaubenstall dates from the second half of the 18th century and is a listed building. A support association has been running a meeting center there since 2007, where numerous cultural events take place.

Four farms, a heating and plumbing company and a sheep farm are located in the village.
