Bossel ( Low German Bossel ) is a district of the municipality of Burweg in the Lower Saxony district of Stade .
Geography and transport links
Bossel lies between Blumenthal in the west and Himmelpforten in the east in the marshland of the Oste , on the edge of the Geest . To the south lies Oldendorf and to the northeast lies the core town of Burweg. The Oste flows northwest, the B 73 runs northeast.
history
Place name
Bossel was called Borstel until 1932 . This derives from buristalda on what Bauer location means.
Prehistory and early history
In the 1930s, an old mine house from the 9th / 10th centuries was built in Bossel . Excavated in the 16th century. An old brooch was found that is supposed to show Maria .
Administrative history
Before 1885 Bossel belonged to Börde Oldendorf in the office of Himmelpforten , after 1885 to the district of Stade and since 1932 to the current district of Stade . When the district of Stade merged with the district of Jork during the territorial reform in 1932 , Bossel (previously Borstel ) had to change its name to avoid confusion, as there was a second municipality in the old country called Borstel .
Incorporation
Bossel was a very small community and, from 1965 , formed the combined community of Oldendorf with Oldendorf , Behrste and Brobergen . This lasted seven years.
As part of the regional reform , Bossel was incorporated into Burweg on July 1, 1972. A new Samtgemeinde Oldendorf was formed, to which Burweg belonged until the Samtgemeinde Oldendorf merged into the Samtgemeinde Oldendorf-Himmelpforten on January 1, 2014 .
Population development
Around 1500 Bossel only consisted of two farms and a cottage . It was not until the 18th century that the town slowly got bigger.

Bossel is evangelical-Lutheran and belongs to the parish of the Martinskirche in Oldendorf .
For the few Catholics as St. Michael Church in Bremervörde responsible, since 1 September 2010 on the parish of the Holy Spirit in Stade belongs.

Regular events
education
Bossel had its own elementary school until 1964 . The small school building, which was in operation until 1974, was built in 1893.
Today the students from Bossel attend the primary school in Oldendorf and secondary schools in Oldendorf ( secondary school with secondary school branch ) and Stade ( Vincent-Lübeck secondary school ).
Trivia
Bossel is not connected to the local sewage system. There is a small sewage treatment plant in every household .
