Brendan Yarema (born July 16, 1976 in Sault Ste. Marie , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was under contract with HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in the Austrian ice hockey league between 2007 and 2009 .
Career
Brendan Yarema began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League , in which he was active from 1993 to 1996 for the Newmarket Royals and Sarnia Sting . In the following two years he played for the Kentucky Thoroughblades and St. John's Maple Leafs in the American Hockey League and the South Carolina Stingrays in the East Coast Hockey League . After he had been under contract with the Kansas City Blades from the International Hockey League from 1998 to 2000 , the attacker switched to the London Knights from the British Ice Hockey Superleague for the 2000/01 season . After just one season he left the British and played in the minor leagues for another four years until 2005 , where he worked for the AHL Houston Eros , Cincinnati Mighty Ducks , Chicago Wolves , Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Milwaukee Admirals from the AHL and the Charlotte Checkers from the ECHL stood on the ice.
For the 2005/06 season , Yarema signed a contract with the Augsburg Panthers from the German Ice Hockey League , for which he scored 42 scorer points in 48 games. After this successful year for him personally, he joined the SCL Tigers from the Swiss National League A at the beginning of the 2006/07 season , but ended the season at Rögle BK from the HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division. Since the 2007/08 season , the Canadian has been playing for HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in the Austrian ice hockey league , with which he failed in the playoff final at EC Red Bull Salzburg in his first year . In the playoffs of 2008 and 2009 he also played with Ljubljana in the Slovenian ice hockey league.
