Bruce MacVittie

Bruce James MacVittie (born October 14, 1956 in Providence , Rhode Island ) is an American actor .

Life

Bruce MacVittie grew up in his native Providence. After gaining acting experience during his high school years, he completed an acting degree at Boston University , where he played for Jerzy Grotowski , among others . He then moved to New York City in 1979 to focus on his acting career. He found work at The Ensemble Studio Theater and played off-Broadway for several years . On Broadway , he was substituted on for James Hayden and his role as Bobby in the David Mamet- written play American Buffalo. After the piece went on a national tour and was performed in London , among other places , he stood on stage alongside Al Pacino and JJ Johnston .

Since the mid-1980s, MacVittie found regular work in both film and television productions. However, he was unable to establish himself as the main actor. Primarily for minor supporting roles, often nameless, he has been cast in films such as Born on July 4th , Studio 54, and Million Dollar Baby . On television, he found roles in New York television series such as Sex and the City , Law & Order, and Person of Interest .
