Bruno Lafranchi

Bruno Lafranchi (born July 19, 1955 in Altdorf UR ) is a former Swiss long-distance runner .

Life

In 1979 and 1980 Lafranchi won the Murtenlauf , in 1982 he was sixth at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Milan over 3000 m and third at the Fukuoka Marathon .

At the marathon of the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki he came in 23rd place. In 1984 he finished fourth in the Frankfurt Marathon and finished 50th in the Olympic Games marathon in Los Angeles .

In 1985 he was ninth and 1986 third in Fukuoka. At the marathon of the World Championships 1987 in Rome, he did not reach the goal. In 1988 he won the Beppu-Ōita Marathon and qualified for the marathon of the Olympic Games in Seoul , which he did not finish.

At the World Cross Country Championships in 1977 he was 96th in Düsseldorf , in 1983 in Gateshead and 1985 in Lisbon in 161 and in 1986 in Colombier in 202.

In 1977 and 1978 he was Swiss champion in the 3000 meter obstacle course , 1983 and 1985 in cross country . In 1982 and 1985 he was national indoor champion over 3000 m.

Bruno Lafranchi is the owner of Lafranchi Sport & Events GmbH . He was president of the organizing committees of the Zurich Marathon and the Zurich New Year's Eve run .
