Bulo Bulo (also: Bulu Bulu ) is a country town in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Bulo Bulo is the second largest town in the 2004 newly created district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Entre Ríos in the province of Carrasco . The city lies at an altitude of 242 m between the Río Ichoa in the west and the Río Ichilo in the east.
geography
Bulo Bulo is located in the Bolivian lowlands on the northeastern foothills of the Cordillera Oriental . The climate is a tropical, humid climate with a distinct rainy season .
The region has an average annual temperature of 26 ° C, the monthly averages are between 23 ° C in July and a good 28 ° C from November to February (see climate diagram Puerto Rether). The average annual precipitation is 1700 mm, with monthly values between 200 and 300 mm from December to February and sufficient humidity in all months.
economy
From 2013 to 2016, Samsung C&T built a fertilizer plant ( ammonia , urea ) here for YPFB , which covers domestic needs and also has capacity for export to Brazil and, if necessary, other neighboring countries. For this, the railway line from Montero was extended by 148 km. A lot of engineering works were required, including a 799 m long bridge over the Río Yapacaní . The total investment was around $ 1 billion. The plan is to build on this to build a petrochemical industry .
Transport network
Bulo Bulo is located at a distance of 285 kilometers by road east of Cochabamba , the capital of the department.
The 1,657-kilometer Ruta 4 highway runs through Bulo Bulo and runs from Tambo Quemado on the Chilean border in the east across the country to Puerto Suárez on the Brazilian border . From Cochabamba you can reach Bulo Bulo via Villa Tunari , Chimoré , Ivirgarzama and Entre Ríos . The trunk road then crosses three kilometers east of Bulo Bulo at Puerto Grether the Río Ichilo and continues to Warnes and Santa Cruz .

Due to the population distribution that has evolved over time, the region has a predominant proportion of Quechua population; in the Entre Ríos municipality, 76.6 percent of the population speak the Quechua language.
