BusinessNews was a free daily newspaper focusing on business. Your editorial office was in Berlin . The paper was published Monday to Friday in tabloid Rhenish format . The publisher described the distribution as innovative. The newspapers were in the foyers of selected commercial enterprises. According to its own information, the paper called itself the "first German office newspaper". BusinessNews was Germany's second largest and current business newspaper.

BusinessNews emerged from the Frankfurt daily News, founded in 2004 . The publisher was the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group , which founded the Tabloid Verlagsgesellschaft for NEWS Frankfurt as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Handelsblatt publishing group (also belonging to Holtzbrinck) . According to information from Welt am Sonntag , BusinessNews should be positioned against the Financial Times Deutschland .

On Friday, June 15, 2007, the last issue of BusinessNews was published in the first year after 208 issues. The advertising sales did not meet expectations. In contrast to other European countries, the BusinessNews sales concept was not able to establish itself in Germany. The newspaper was carried “to the grave” via an installation at documenta 12 in Kassel and the “last honor” was given. After the termination of BusinessNews, the editor-in-chief Klaus Madzia left the publishing house, while part of the editorial team worked on a new Internet news portal called zoomer.de .

BusinessNews was printed by Mediengruppe Mainpost GmbH in Würzburg, Kurier Verlags GmbH & Co. KG in Neubrandenburg, the OTZ printing center in Löbichau and by M. Brimberg Druck und Verlag GmbH in Aachen.
