Canon van Nederland
Canon van Nederland ( German : educational canon of the Netherlands ) is a composed of fifty Information strands summary of the history of the Netherlands for use in schools.
history
The educational canon was drawn up on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science under the direction of Frits van Oostrom , a literary scholar from the University of Utrecht , and presented to the public on July 2, 2007 as the “educational canon for all Dutch people”. It comprises three booklets with a total of 320 pages, a graphic wall map in various sizes and an interactive website.
Since the 2009/2010 school year, the canon has been part of the Dutch curriculum in primary and secondary schools. On the basis of fourteen guidelines, fifty chronologically ordered topics provide an overview of the history of the Netherlands and at the same time define the content of the school history lesson.
The entoen.nu foundation developed from the working group under the direction of Hubert Slings, which provides the information material and operates the website.
