Carl Eduard Taube von Odenkat

Carl Eduard Taube von Odenkat ( Swedish : Carl Edvard Taube af Odenkat; * December 12, 1746 in Trossnäs ( Sweden ); † May 28, 1785 in Stockholm ) came from the German-Swedish-Baltic noble family of the " von Taube ". He was the first religious bishop in Sweden.

Military career

Carl Eduard Freiherr Taube studied at Uppsala University in 1756 and was appointed court squire to the Swedish Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf , the son of King Gustaf III. ordered, at the same time he was doing his service in the royal chancellery . In 1773 he became an ensign and was stationed in Närkes and Värmland. In 1775 he took over his service in Blixenska regementet. At the end of 1780 he took over the position of court preacher in the cathedral chapter of Västerås. From 1781 he was president of the priestly meetings in Lovö. Carl Eduard Taube was the son of Baron Carl Diedrich Taube von Odenkat (1692–1746) and the grandson of the Swedish admiral Eberhard Friedrich Taube von Odenkat (1648–1703). In 1775 he married Catharina Eleonora Benzelstierna (1751–1822), daughter of Bishop Dr. Lars Benzelstierna and the Elisabet Maria Schönström. Your children were:
