Carl Ernst Adalbert von Dobschütz (born October 7, 1861 in Strehlen , † April 19, 1946 in Rostock ) was a Prussian major general , legal knight of the Order of St. John and from 1934 to 1937 a member of the Mecklenburg gentlemen's society .

Life

origin

Dobschütz came from the old Silesian noble family of the von Dobschütz , consisting of landowners and officers, and was the son of the Prussian Colonel Adalbert von Dobschütz and his first wife Caroline Rönkendorf. The theologian Ernst von Dobschütz was his younger half-brother.

Military career

In April 1879 he was second lieutenant in the 1st Silesian Grenadier Regiment No. in Breslau. He was promoted to prime lieutenant in August 1888. Dobschütz was transferred to the 27th Infantry Brigade in Düsseldorf as an adjutant in November 1892 . Ten months later he was promoted to captain à la suite and company commander in the Lower Rhine Fusilier Regiment No. 39 in Düsseldorf. He was promoted to major in September 1904 in the grenadier regiment "King Friedrich Wilhelm II." (1st Silesian) No. 10 in Schweidnitz and one year later he was appointed battalion commander. In March 1912, he was transferred to the staff of the Grand Ducal Mecklenburg Grenadier Regiment No. 89 in Rostock. On 18 October 1913 he was standing on the disposition of the statutory board appointed commander of the militia appointed -Bezirks Rostock. In this position Dobschütz received the character of a colonel on January 27, 1914 .

After the outbreak of the First World War , he was appointed commander of the Landsturm Battalion in Bremerhaven and the Reserve Infantry Regiment No. 214 on August 3, 1914 and August 25, 1914. He led the regiment with only a brief interruption , until March 1917. After the end of the war, Dobschütz resigned as major general in August 1919 from military service. He was holder of the Red Eagle Order IV class.
