Scott Thompson (born February 25, 1965 in Rockledge , Florida , known by his stage name Carrot Top (English carrot head)) is an American comedian . He is known for his red hair and self-deprecating humor.

Childhood and youth

Thompson lived in Cocoa, Florida for part of his youth. He graduated from Cocoa High School in 1983 and enrolled at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton a year later. Since the beginning of his studies, he has appeared on stand-up comedy shows with Josh Abelson.

Career

Carrot Top has appeared on various TV shows: Larry the Cable Guy , Gene Simmons Family Jewels , Space Ghost Coast To Coast , Criss Angel Mindfreak , Scrubs (2001), George Lopez (series) and Tugger: The Jeep 4x4 Who Wanted to Fly (2005). He was the voice actor for 1-800-CALL-ATT commercials. His film credits include the film Chairman of the Board , 2002, he said, a comment for the film The Rules of Attraction by Roger Avary . In the Reno 911 series ! Carrot Top appeared in 2009 in the episode "Weigel's Pregnant" as himself, in which he ravaged his hotel room with exaggerated anger, resisted arrest and stole a police car. He was a juror on NBC's Last Comic Standing show , where attendees at the Bed, Bath & Beyond furniture store had to do sketches with purchased goods and only had an hour to prepare.

From 1995 to 1999 Carrot was the top program spokesperson for the Cartoon Network , where he also appeared for two years (1994-96) on the morning show Carrot Top's AM Mayhem .

Parodies

Carrot Top has been parodied many times, e.g. B. in Mr. Show (in which David Cross appears as "Blueberry Head"), King of the Hill ("Celery Head"), Family Guy ("Carrot Scalp"; he also had a guest appearance as himself in the episode Petergeist ), South Park (“Carrot Ass”), MADtv (“Broccoli Top”) and Zack & Cody on board (“Parsnip Top)”.

Shows and appearances

Since 2008, Carrot Top has appeared regularly with his own comedy show at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas and has other solo appearances when he is not on show dates. The hotel advertises him as “Comedian of the Year”. His program consists of numerous scenes in which he uses props stowed in boxes on the stage. He usually pulls out a joke, makes a short joke and throws it away again. Many of the props are specially designed objects, e.g. B. a mini grandfather clock with which he jokes about the age of Flavor Flav .

Television appearances

On January 16, 2010, Carrot Top was on the game show Don't Forget The Lyrics! , where he assisted illusionists Penn & Teller in an attempt to win the US $ 1 million grand prize. He was also a star on the show Comedy Central Roast of Flavor Flav and Gene Simmons Roast . He appeared in a second season episode of Mind Freak and has made regular guest appearances ever since. He is involved in an episode of the reality series The Bad Girls Club . In the episode of January 6, 2011 of the series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation with the title "wasted courage" he plays himself.

Carrot Top has appeared on numerous evening talk shows . On February 8, 2010, he was a guest on the Jay Leno show , where he was pelted with cake by Leno and guest Emma Roberts .

He also appeared on Comedy Central's Tosh.0 show receiving a full body massage from Daniel Tosh , the host of the show.
