Central Region (Uganda)
The Central Region is one of four regions in Uganda . According to the 2014 census in Uganda, the population of the region was 9,529,238 in an area of 61,403.2 km². The regional capital is located in the city of Kampala . The region is divided into several districts . The region is synonymous with the Kingdom of Buganda , one of the ancient African monarchies that are constitutionally recognized in Uganda.
Demographics
The population is estimated at 11,562,900 for 2020. In the same year, 49.1 percent of them lived in urban regions and 50.9 percent in rural regions.

economy
The Central Region is the most urbanized and most developed region in Uganda. With Kampala it also contains the most important economic center of the country.
