Cerilo Casicas

Cerilo Casicas (born March 18, 1967 in Duero , Bohol , Philippines ) is a Filipino clergyman and Roman Catholic Bishop of Marbel .

Life

Cerilo Casicas studied at the seminaries in Koronadal City and Davao City . He received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Marbel on October 27, 1994 .

After ordination, he was first chancellor of the bishop and from 1995 to 2000 dean of studies at the seminary in Koronadal City. From 2001 to 2004 he stayed in Rome for further studies, where he also served as chaplain of the Filipino community. In 2003 he graduated from the Pontifical Gregorian University with a degree in dogmatics . In 2004 he also took a German course at the Kreuzberg Institute in Bonn. After his return he was a lecturer at the University of Notre Dame in Marbel until 2006 and then parish vicar in Polomolok until 2009 . After a sabbatical year in the Trappist Abbey of Guimaras , he was again active in the pastoral care of General Santos . Since 2013 he has been Regens and professor at the seminary of Cagayan de Oro .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Marbel on April 28, 2018. The Archbishop of Cotabato , Orlando Cardinal Quevedo OMI , donated him episcopal ordination on July 11th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Davao , Romulo Geolina Valles , and the Bishop Emeritus of Marbel, Dinualdo D. Gutierrez .
