Son Chae-young (born April 23, 1999 in Seoul ) is a South Korean singer and member of the girl group Twice . Mostly she appears under her mononym Chaeyoung ( Hangeul : 채영 ).

life and career

Chaeyoung joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee at the age of 14 . There she also appeared briefly in music videos of Got7 and Miss A on.

In July 2015, she emerged victorious from the casting show Sixteen , in which she was selected as one of the nine future members of Twice. For the songs Missing U , Don't Give Up , Strawberry and 21:29, Chaeyoung helped write the lyrics .

controversy

After her groupmate Nayeon struggled with a stalker for months , he released Chaeyoung's phone number in January 2020. She then criticized the stalker in an unusually open manner on Instagram .
