Park Ji-hyo (born February 1, 1997 in Guri , Gyeonggi-do ) is a South Korean singer and member of the girl group Twice . Mostly she occurs under her mononym Jihyo ( Hangeul : 지효 ).
life and career
Jihyo was born as Park Ji-soo ( Korean 박지수 ), but changed her name before participating in the Sixteen talent show. After being cast for a role in a youth program on Naver TV , she became a trainee at JYP Entertainment at the age of eight . There she trained with Sunmi and Bae Suzy, among others . In 2015, Jihyo briefly appeared in the music video of Miss A's song Only You . JY Park criticized her supposed weight problems at the beginning of her career.
Originally, Jihyo, like Nayeon and Jeongyeon , should have participated in the 6mix group planned by JYPE. However, this project was terminated by the agency.
In July 2015, she emerged victorious from the casting show Sixteen, in which she was selected as one of the nine future members of Twice. Jihyo was named leader of the group, although she is not the oldest member. With the songs Eyes Eyes Eyes , 24/7 , Ho! , Sunset , Girls Like Us , Get Loud and 21:29 Jihyo helped write the lyrics . In 2016 she released the song The Reason Why I'm Beautiful with the singers Ben and Jung Eun-ji .
Private
Jihyo is considered a lover of the League of Legends computer game . In August 2019 it was officially announced that she was in a relationship with singer Kang Daniel .
