Chef de Mission
The head of a sporting delegation is referred to as the Chef de Mission .
Olympic games
At the Olympic Games , the Chef de Mission is appointed by the National Olympic Committee, which in Germany has been the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) since 2006 . He stayed in the Olympic Village for the entire duration of the Games .
tasks
He is the contact person for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the respective Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games (OCOG). He is also the point of contact for the athletes , coaches and officials in his country, for whom he is also responsible.
The other duties of the Chef de Mission include:
- Representation of the Olympic team
- Cooperation with the press
- Organization of arrival and departure as well as accommodation
- Exploring the sports facilities
Germany
