Chmielówka ( German  Chmielowken , 1938 to 1945 Neumoithienen ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the urban and rural community of Gmina Biskupiec (Powiat Olsztyński) (Bishop's Castle ) in the Powiat Olsztyński ( Allenstein District ).

history

Chmielowken was a Vorwerk of Moythienen (1938 to 1945 Moithienen , Polish Mojtyny ) in the East Prussian district of Ortelsburg and as such a place to live in this municipality. In 1905 it had eight residents in a residential building. For political and ideological reasons to avoid foreign-sounding place names, Chmielowken was renamed "Neumoithienen" on June 3, 1938 - officially confirmed on July 16, 1938.

With the whole of southern East Prussia , the place came to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war and received the Polish form of the name "Chmielówka". Today it is a village within the urban and rural community of Biskupiec (Bishop's Castle) in the powiat Olsztyński ( Olsztyn District ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

church
