Corchiani, whose father was a basketball coach, was a member of the team at Hialeah-Miami Lakes High School in Florida as a student . From 1987 to 1991 he studied and played at North Carolina State University . In the 1990/91 season he was the best passer in the first NCAA division, when he prepared 9.7 basket hits per game of his teammates. At the end of February 1991, he got 20 templates in one game, making him the first player in NCAA history to break the 1000 mark. He finished his four-year stay at the university with 1425 points (11.5 per game) and 1038 assists, the latter value being a new NCAA record.

The Orlando Magic  from his native federal government chose the 1.85 meters measured point guard in the draft process of NBA  from the year 1991st Corchiani was called in the second round in 36th place. For the team he played 51 NBA appearances in the 1991/92 game year, scored five points per encounter and prepared an average of 2.8 successful hoops for his neighbors. In early December 1992 he was struck from Orlando's roster, played briefly with the Rapid City Thrillers in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) before he signed a ten-day contract with another NBA team, the Washington Bullets , in mid-January 1993 . After the contract ended, Corchiani moved abroad for the first time and ended the 1992/93 season with the Italian top team Benetton Treviso . There he made a good impression with 18.7 points per encounter. In Treviso Corchiani was Toni Kukoč's team-mate , they became Italian runners-up with the team.

Corchiani was signed by the Boston Celtics  (NBA) in mid-September 1993 after being featured in the previous NBA summer league . He was used by Boston during the game year 1993/94 in 51 games, but remained a supplementary player.

In 1994/95 he was under contract with Efes Pilsen Istanbul in Turkey . In the European Champions Cup , he met with Istanbul and Bayer Leverkusen . The German Bundesliga team signed him in the run-up to the 1995/96 season. As part of the well-known Leverkusen team made up of Tony Dawson , Hans-Jürgen Gnad , Henning Harnisch , Christian Welp and Michael Koch , he won the German championship with great success under the direction of coach Dirk Bauermann . In Leverkusen he made friends with his compatriot Claudio Reyna , who played for Bayer's soccer team at the time.

After his year in the Rhineland, Corchiani accepted an offer from Spanish first division club Valvi Girona. In the ACB league he  scored an average of 13.5 points per game during the 1996/97 season. With Girona he won the Catalan championship, which was played alongside the game in the Spanish league this season.

In the 1998/99 season he was under contract with Ducato Siena in Italy, during which time he was plagued by foot problems. So he underwent an operation after the season. The two-year contract with Siena was dissolved after a legal dispute. Corchiani claims that he felt deprived of part of his salary. He returned to Italy during the 1999/2000 season and played for Pepsi Rimini . In April 2000 he moved to Tau Vitoria in Spain to strengthen the first division club in the final stages of the season. In Vitoria he was mostly used as a substitute on the build-up position and received  a contract extension from coach Duško Ivanović's team after the end of the 1999/2000 season. In 2001 he reached the Euroleague final series with Vitoria , which Corchiani missed due to an injury. Vitoria was subject to children of Bologna . In 2002 he became  Spanish champion with Vitoria at the side of Andrés Nocioni , Fabricio Oberto , Elmer Bennett , Luis Scola and Laurent Foirest . In the championship year, Cochiani scored an average of 5.5 points per match in 33 league appearances and prepared 1.4 basket hits per game. He then wanted to end his career, but received another offer from the Spanish first division club Lucéntum Alicante during the 2002/03 season . Corchiani, who had little training in the summer of 2002, traveled to Alicante with overweight. The coaches tried to get him in shape in a short period of time. Corchiani did not want to do the physical exertion after a while and traveled back to the United States in a night and fog action without having played a competitive game for Alicante.

Professionally, he worked in Raleigh first as a real estate agent , then as the owner of a mortgage bank. In 2007 he founded a company that brokered title insurance. His brother Gabe was a member of the basketball team at the University of New Orleans . Chris Corchiani's sons Tommy ( University of South Carolina ), Chris Junior (North Carolina State University) and his nephew Michael ( Southeastern Louisiana University ) also played college basketball in the United States.
