Christian Schertz

Christian Schertz (born February 21, 1966 ) is a German lawyer and honorary professor . His area of ​​expertise is media law .

biography

academic career

Schertz studied law at universities in Berlin and Munich. From 1991 to 1993 he worked in the legal department of RIAS Berlin. He then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Intellectual Property and Copyright at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 1996 he received his PhD on issues of commercial exploitation of personal rights ( merchandising ) for Dr. jur. From 1995 to 1999 he was a lecturer at the Law Faculty of the HU Berlin for press and media law, from 2000 to 2011 as a lecturer for media law at the University of Film and Television in Potsdam and between 2004 and 2006 also as a lecturer for media law at the Free University of Berlin active. Since 2011 he has been honorary professor for personality, press and media law at the Technical University of Dresden .

Practice as a lawyer

From 1994 Schertz worked as a lawyer in the field of press, copyright and media law in Hamburg at the law firm Senfft, Kersten, Voss-Andrae & Schwenn , and from 1997 to 2004 at the Hertin law firm in Berlin. In 2005 he founded his own law firm Schertz Bergmann together with Simon Bergmann .
