Christoph Henning from Kameke

Christoph Henning von Kameke (born May 21, 1737 in Pritzig , † February 7, 1812 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

His parents were Otto Felix Friedrich von Kameke (* August 3, 1709; † December 8, 1775) and his wife Dorothea Elisabeth, born von Lettow († February 16, 1742).

Military career

Kamecke came to Berlin as a cadet on June 20, 1762 . On May 30, 1756 he was employed as a corporal in the infantry regiment "von Forcade" . During the Seven Years' War he fought in the battles near Prague , Roßbach , Leuthen , Hochkirch , Liegnitz , Torgau and Freiberg . Kamecke was seriously wounded at Torgau and slightly wounded in Freiberg. For the battle at Weißkirch he received the order Pour le Mérite . In the time he was on January 27, 1758 Ensign , on February 13, 1760 second lieutenant , and on June 28, 1762 First Lieutenant .

After the war, it was not until July 3, 1773 that he was promoted to staff captain. On January 7, 1776, Kamecke became captain and company commander in the "von Ramin" infantry regiment . As such, he took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . On March 3, 1786 he became a major and on January 10, 1793, a lieutenant colonel . During the First Coalition War , he was appointed regimental commander on March 17, 1793, and on January 1, 1795, Kamecke was promoted to colonel with a patent from January 12, 1795 . On October 1, 1799, he received his resignation with a pension of 600 thalers. Four days later, he was given the character of major general. He died in Berlin on February 7, 1812.

family

Kamecke married Charlotte von Wülk (e) nitz (* 1747; † October 16, 1810). The marriage later divorced, but the couple had a daughter:
