Christoph Kucklick
Christoph Kucklick (born October 21, 1963 in Unna , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German sociologist , journalist and non-fiction author . Kucklick was editor-in-chief of Geo magazine from 2014 to 2019 . Since January 2020 he has been the director of the Henri Nannen School in Hamburg .
Life
From 1987 to 1992 Christoph Kucklick studied political science and sociology at the University of Hamburg . From September 1990 to July 1991 he studied as a scholarship holder in the Fulbright program , majoring in International Relations , at the School of International Service at the American University in Washington, DC. In 2003/04 he was a fellow of the European Journalism Fellowship at the FU Berlin and in autumn 2009 as part of "Bertelsmann University" at Harvard Business School .
In 1985/86 Kucklick completed a traineeship at the Henri Nannen School in Hamburg. He then spent a year as editor and department head at Hamburger Morgenpost . From 1993 to 1999 he worked as a freelance writer a. a. for Stern , GEO Special and Brigitte . Kucklick was copy editor at the magazine Amica and managing editor at RTL II News . From May 1999 to September 2003 he worked as a reporter at Geo .
With the dissertation The Immoral Sex. The genesis of modern masculinity of a negative Andrology doctorate he in 2006 at the Humboldt University of Berlin to the doctor (Dr. phil.); In 2008 the work appeared under the title "The immoral sex. On the genesis of negative andrology" in the edition suhrkamp . In November 2014 he published the book "The granular society. How the digital dissolves our reality" at Ullstein Verlag , which has since been voted twice in the best list of the "SZ / NDR non-fiction books of the month ".
From October 2004 to January 2008 he was editor-in-chief of Geo Saison magazine . On July 1, 2014, he replaced Peter-Matthias Gaede as editor-in-chief of Geo. He held this position until the end of 2019.
On January 1, 2020, Kucklick took over the management of the Henri Nannen School in Hamburg as the successor to Andreas Wolfers .
