Christoph von Pflug

Christoph von Pflug (* in the 16th century in Eythra ; † 1638 ) was councilor and envoy to Count Anton Günther von Oldenburg .

Career

Plow came from a Saxon-Thuringian needle family, the Czech Uradelsgeschlecht Pflugk decreased. His father, the Appellationsrat Caesar Pflug, inherited at Eythra, was born with Elisabeth. married by Einsiedel .

Nothing is known about his childhood, youth or education. Since 1608, Plug was attested as a councilor to Count Anton Günther von Oldenburg, for whom he was active in various foreign policy missions. In 1611 he traveled as envoy to Prague , 1611/12 to the court of the Archbishop of Bremen Johann Friedrich von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf , 1612 to Buxtehude and the Netherlands , 1613 to Hamburg , Denmark and Regensburg , 1614 to Denmark, Zerbst and Dresden , 1617 again to the Netherlands, 1618 again to Denmark, 1619 to Frankfurt am Main , 1621 to Denmark, 1622 to Anhalt , 1623 to Emden and 1626 to Count Tilly , with whom he developed a good relationship.

During his service, Pflug wrote reports on the chancellery regulations and the security of the County of Oldenburg .

After the Hofmeister von Zeerssen resigned, Pflug seems to have become the Count's most trusted advisor. He received twice the salary of the other councilors and was also the first to be addressed as a Privy Councilor without being Chancellor .

In 1627 he became part of the government in absentia for the county alongside the Drosten , the court master and the chancellor, of which he even chaired in part. From 1627 he became a bailiff in Hameln and Minden in the services of Tilly's nephew Count Werner von Tilly, where he had good relations with Tilly useful.

Pflug married Elisabeth born. von Zehrenhausen from the Trochel company. Of his children, Dietrich (1621–1678) was later court marshal , councilor and senior guardian in Gotha .
