Christopher Geidt
Sir Christopher Edward Wollaston MacKenzie Geidt GCB, GCVO, OBE, PC (born August 17, 1961 in Marylebone , London ) was Queen Elizabeth II's private secretary from 2007 to 2017 .
education
Geidt spent his school years at the renowned Dragon School in Oxford and at Trinity College in Glenalmond. He studied military science at King's College London and international relations at Trinity Hall , Cambridge . He completed several guest semesters at the Universities of Bristol and Harvard and at Magdalen College , Oxford .
Career
He joined the Scots Guards and attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst until 1983 . He then moved as an officer in the Intelligence Corps of the British Armed Forces. In 1987, Geidt became Vice Director of the Royal United Services Institute for Defense Studies . From 1994 he worked for the Foreign and Commonwealth Ministry in the diplomatic service in Sarajevo , Geneva and Brussels .
Geidt moved to the private secretary of Queen Elizabeth II in 2002, became deputy private secretary in 2005 and private secretary in 2007. He is also director of the Royal Private Archives and trustee of the Royal Collection , the Silver Jubilee Trust, and the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust .
As the Queen's private secretary, he is a member of the Golden Triangle , a liaison team of senior British officials. The other two members are the Cabinet Secretary and the Prime Minister's Cabinet Chief . You have an important role in the case of a hung parliament in Great Britain, an election result without a clear majority, as last happened in 2010.

In 1991 Geidt and Anthony de Normann sued journalist John Pilger and Central Television over allegations in the TV documentary Cambodia - The Betrayal . In this, the two were assumed to have trained the Cambodian Khmer Rouge in the use of landmines and other explosive devices in their capacity as members of the British Special Air Service in the 1980s . Geidt and de Normann won the process. A similar slander suit was against Ann Clwyd , then Shadow Minister for Development Aid ( Shadow Minister for Overseas Development target time), which had to publicly apologize and carried all the costs of the process. During and after the Bosnian War there were ties between Geidt and the Serbian leaders including Radovan Karadžić , Momčilo Krajišnik and General Ratko Mladić , all charged with war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity. In 1996 he assisted the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina Carl Bildt in negotiations with the Serbian President Slobodan Milošević for the removal of Karadžić from the presidency of the Republika Srpska .
family
In 1996 he married Emma Charlotte Angela Neil, the youngest daughter of Patrick Neill, Baron Neill of Bladen .
