  • November 13: By ministerial decree, the school of the Düren ex-Jesuits becomes a royal Prussian full high school
  • The old meat hall on the site of the house at Kaiserplatz 19 is sold. A new meat hall is being built in the old Rossmühle at Buttermarkt

  • The secularized monastery church of the Franciscans is elevated to a parish church ( St. Marienkirche )
