- November 13: By ministerial decree, the school of the Düren ex-Jesuits becomes a royal Prussian full high school
- The old meat hall on the site of the house at Kaiserplatz 19 is sold. A new meat hall is being built in the old Rossmühle at Buttermarkt
- A music association is founded in late autumn. 1. Stephan Engels from Aachen becomes music director .

7.1 .: Inauguration of the grammar school in the Capuchin monastery on Altenteich
1828
- Completion of the classicistic urban bathhouse for simple baths and therapeutic baths on August-Klotz-Str.
- The family school, later secondary school , supported by manufacturers in Düren , comes into being

Extensive measures against the approaching cholera from the east
1831
- The secularized monastery church of the Franciscans is elevated to a parish church ( St. Marienkirche )
- Düren has 6,740 inhabitants
1832
- The St. Annaparre is divided, so that the St. Marienpfarre is created as the 2nd parish in Düren
- April 16: Opening of the 'Stadt Dürener Pawn Shop with Sparkasse' in the houses at Holztor (forerunner of today's Sparkasse Düren )
1833
- After cholera penetrated the Düren area, Rudolf Schenkel donated a building in front of the city to accommodate cholera patients
- 1.8 .: Fire police and fire fighting regulations come into force. The first urban fire corps with 141 people is formed
- November 2nd: Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm visits Düren and lives in Eberhard Hoesch's house on the cattle market
1834
- Layout of the Cologne-Obertor-Promenade ( renamed to Hohenzollernstrasse on July 31, 1896 )
- 14.4 .: The Wirteltor is auctioned off for demolition
- July 17: Opening of the new Aktienstraße to Cologne
- 18.7 .: The post is from Wirtelstr. Relocated to a new house next to the Palatinate Court
- October 24th: Inauguration of the Protestant private school of J. Fr. Drinhaus in Schenkelstr. No. 8
1835
- Foundation of the men 's choir 'Liedertafel'
- 20.9 .: Renewal of the shooting festival, which was canceled for a long time
1836
- February 15: First express mail to Cologne
- 6.7 .: Rules for bathing in the Rur
- 14.10 .: The postal administration is moved to a house in Kölnstr. Relocated next to the Cologne court
1837
- First paper machine in the Düren area in Lamersdorf
- July 27th: A public bathing establishment is built on the Rur (Rurbadeanstalt).

August 19: The (Ewalds-) Schützengilde celebrates the centenary of their club flag

June 12/13: Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm visits Düren for the second time

- Start of construction on the Düren - Zülpich road , completion in 1843
- March 31st: Laying of the foundation stone of the casino building, the Harmonie, on the cattle market (Kaiserplatz)
- 1.6 .: The Düren women's association founded on March 23, 1841 opens a custody facility for small children
- 1.9 .: The Cologne-Düren-Aachen railway line was opened by the then private Rheinische Eisenbahn
1842
- Franz Anton Vaßen becomes senior pastor of the Anna Church
- Rudolf Schenkel, an industrialist from Düren, made the Jesuit college available to set up a “poor food institution”
- The music association dissolves. An instrumental association is founded.
- 23.1 .: The 'Aachen Association for the Promotion of Labor' established in Wirtelstr. a premium fund (branches in Kreuzau and Vettweiß in 1897 )

- 1.5 .: First two-horse personal mail Düren - Zülpich
- 1.12 .: Dr. Königsfeld opens a poor food institution founded by private donations in the rooms of the former Jesuit building
- Leopold Schoeller & Sons establish a cloth factory on Wirteltorplatz
- 20.8 .: Establishment of a 'Committee for the Preliminary Investigation of the Appropriateness of Setting Up Gas Lighting'
- 15.10 .: Connection of Düren to the Aachen - Verviers railway line
1844
- 14.12 .: The district office is moved to Oberstr. 52 and remains there until 1887
- The old church of the Reformed community is demolished
1845
- The stone Rurbrücke ( Aachener Str. ) From 1748 is completely destroyed by a flood
- The care of the blind moves into the former Jesuit college in Jesuitengasse (gift from Rudolf Schenkel)
- Foundation of a 'bathing club' for bathing in the Rur
- June 25th: Inauguration of the Church of the Resurrection in the stairs street, now Schenkel street. (reformed church)
- November 13th: Opening of the 'Elisabeth-Blindenanstalt' in the former Jesuit building
1846
3rd – 11th August: First city council elections according to the new municipal code of July 23, 1845
1847
- 28.1 .: Foundation of the 'Düren gymnastics club'
- The 'stairs street' is in 'Schenkelstr.' renamed
- Establishment of the first Düren post office in Markt 6
1848
- Rudolf Schenkel, an industrialist from Düren, donated the Jesuit College to establish an " Elisabeth Facility " for the Rhineland. In 1879 she was born in North Düren due to Lack of space newly built.
- 21.3 .: The city council decides to set up a citizen security guard or a 'citizen protection association'
1849
- Foundation of the continent's first synthetic wool factory by Wilhelm Schoeller
- January 22nd: A collection for the German fleet results in 26 thalers
- April 20: Founding of a trade association for Düren
- 11.9 .: The postal administration moves from the market to Oberstr. around
- The Lutheran church receives an organ , built by the Kalscheuer brothers , Nörvenich
1850
Construction of a new slaughterhouse near 'Orgelstrasse', the southern part of today's Holzstrasse.
