September 3: The courtyard of the Kreuzbrüder in Schellengasse, a cul-de-sac (part of today's Wilhelmstrasse between Schenkelstrasse and Kaiserplatz ) is mentioned for the first time as the Kreuzbrüderhof or Schwarzenbroicher house

'State rafting privilege': The city is allowed to use the Rur for rafting wood

April 25th: A new Düren town order (association letter) is established

The Franciscans settled in Düren and built the “ Bethanien Monastery ” (still today street “ In Bethanien ” near Marienkirche).
