The Cessna 400 (Cessna 350) is a single - engine low- wing aircraft with a fixed landing gear. The Cessna 350 was a variant with a weaker naturally aspirated engine. Originally sold under the type designation Cessna 400 , the aircraft was named Corvalis TT (for twin turbocharged) from January 2009 . Today's marketing names include: Cessna Corvalis and Cessna Corvalis TT . Before the takeover by Cessna, the aircraft was known as the LC-41 Columbia 400 . It was designed by Columbia as a further development of the Columbia 300 with turbocharger and enlarged tail unit, which in turn represents the production version of the Lancair LC-40 . It had its maiden flight in June 2000.
The Cessna 400 has an aerodynamically highly developed composite cell, a glass cockpit with components from Garmin or Avidyne and a comparatively large interior. In terms of performance, it is comparable to aircraft such as the Cirrus SR22 GTS or the Mooney Acclaim .
On November 27, 2007, the Cessna Aircraft Company announced the acquisition of parts of Columbia. The Columbia 350 and 400 were then marketed as the Cessna 350/400 for prices of approximately $ 530,000 / $ 620,000. The last name under which the machine was delivered was Corvalis TTX, in which, in addition to the Garmin G2000 glass cockpit with two 14-inch displays, the backup instruments are also digital. This makes it the first piston-engined airplane without analog instruments.
In January 2018, the production was stopped, the machine was not sold in the numbers that were expected; only 31 machines were sold in 2016, 12 in the fourth quarter of 2017.
