Comano is an Italian municipality with 690 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Massa-Carrara in Tuscany . The municipality is located about 40 kilometers north of the provincial capital Massa .

The Comano Castle

There is a castle in Comano that King Hugo had built in 938 and given to his wife. Countess Matilde and Castruccio Castracani lived in the castle . Today only ruins remain of the castle.
