The Communauté d'agglomération de Châlons-en-Champagne (before 2017) is a former French community association with the legal form of a Communauté d'agglomération in the Marne department in the Grand Est region . It was founded on January 1, 2014 and comprised 38 parishes. The administrative seat was in the city of Châlons-en-Champagne .

Historical development

A predecessor organization of the same name, which had existed since 2004, became effective January 1, 2014 with the

  • Communauté de communes de l'Europort, the
  • Communauté de communes de Jâlons and the
  • Communauté de communes de la Region de Condé-sur-Marne

merged and re-established under the same name.

With effect from January 1, 2017, the association of municipalities merged with the Communauté de communes de la Région de Mourmelon and thus formed the successor organization Communauté d'agglomération de Châlons-en-Champagne . Despite the same name, it is a start-up with a different legal personality.
