Cristian Dumitru Crişan (born October 11, 1981 in Reghin , Romania ) is a Romanian clergyman and Romanian Greek Catholic auxiliary bishop in Făgăraş and Alba Iulia .

Life

Cristian Dumitru Crişan studied philosophy and Catholic theology in Blaj from 2000 to 2003 before he was sent to Rome to continue his studies . There he completed a preparatory year at the Pontifical Oriental Institute organized by the Congregation for the Oriental Churches . In 2007 Crişan graduated from the Pontifical Athenaeum Sant'Anselmo . He received on 11 May 2008 in Bucharest by the Auxiliary Bishop of Fagaras and Alba Iulia, Mihai Frăţilă , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

2012 Cristian Dumitru Crişan was at the Pontifical Lateran University in the subject canon law doctorate . In the same year he became pastor of the parish of Saint-Grégoire in Paris and rector of the Romanian Greek Catholic Mission in France . 2013 Crişan was also notary of the Synod of Bishops of the Romanian Greek Catholic Church and marriage defender of the bond at the church court of Paris. From 2016 he was a judge at the same court. From 2016 to 2017 Cristian Dumitru Crişan studied at the educational science faculty of the Institut Catholique de Paris and at the University of Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV) . He obtained a certificate from the Institut d'études politiques de Paris in 2018 .

On April 9, 2018 Pope appointed him Francis for apostolic visitor for those in Western Europe living Romanian Greek Catholic believers. On October 11th of the same year Cristian Dumitru Crişan became the national coordinator of pastoral care for the Romanian Greek Catholic faithful in Italy .

The Synod of Bishops of the Romanian Greek Catholic Church elected Cristian Dumitru Crişan as auxiliary bishop in Făgăraş and Alba Iulia. Pope Francis confirmed this election on January 22nd, 2020 and appointed him titular bishop of Abula . The Major Archbishop of Fagaras and Alba Iulia, Lucian Mureşan Cardinal , gave him on 21 June of the same year in the Cathedral of Blaj the episcopal ordination ; Co -consecrators were the Romanian Greek Catholic Bishop of Lugoj , Alexandru Mesian , and the Curia Bishop in the Grand Archbishopric of Făgăraș and Alba Iulia, Claudiu-Lucian Pop .
