history

Cunsdorf was mentioned as "Cunratsdorf" in 1367 when Heinrich Reuss , Vogt von Plauen , sold the town of Reichenbach and the surrounding villages to the German Emperor and Bohemian King Charles IV .

From 1577, the manor over the Waldhufendorf was at the Reichenbach manor . Cunsdorf came in the 16th century with the rule of Mylau to the Electoral Saxon or later royal Saxon office of Plauen , to which the place was subject until 1856. In the year 1764 a Vorwerk is proven in the place . In 1856 Cunsdorf was affiliated to the Reichenbach court office and in 1875 to the Plauen administration .

In the second half of the 19th century, several companies were founded in Cunsdorf. In 1864 Robert Würker opened a worsted spinning mill on “Kneippstrasse” . In 1876 a brewery was founded in Cunsdorf. In 1972 the Jahn brewery ended. In the end it was only the bottling location of the Plauener Sternquell brewery .

Schools have been operating in Cunsdorf since 1766. In 1836 a joint school building was erected in the school association with the neighboring town of Brunn on the corridor border near the old Brunner forestry department. Due to the increased number of pupils, the Cunsdorfer built their first own school building on "Friesener Weg" in 1882. The Cunsdorf children were taught in the second, larger school building from 1912 to 2011.

The town of Cunsdorf, which adjoins the urban area of Reichenbach to the north, was incorporated into Reichenbach on April 1, 1924. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Cunsdorf came as a district of Reichenbach in Vogtland in 1952 to the district of Reichenbach in the Chemnitz district (renamed Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Reichenbach from 1990 and was added to the Vogtlandkreis in 1996 .
