Career
Curtis Glencross began his career as a hockey player in 2002 for the University of Alaska Anchorage ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . After two years he was signed on March 25, 2004 as a free agent by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim . In his three seasons for Anaheim, however, he only made two appearances in the National Hockey League in the 2006/07 season , in which he scored one goal. Mainly Glencross was on the ice for the then farm team of the Ducks, the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks from the American Hockey League .
On January 26, 2007, the Canadian was given to the Columbus Blue Jackets together with Zenon Konopka in exchange for Mark Hartigan and Joe Motzko . By the end of the season, Glencross played seven times for the Blue Jackets and in 29 games for their AHL farm team Syracuse Crunch . In the 2007/08 season , Glencross played exclusively for the NHL team of the Blue Jackets and came to 36 missions. On February 1, 2008 he was given in exchange for Dick Tärnström to the Edmonton Oilers , for which he played a further 26 NHL games by the end of the season. On July 2, 2008, Glencross finally signed a three-year contract as a free agent with the Calgary Flames .
During the Oilers Skill Competition in the 2007-08 season, Glencross set an unofficial NHL record by lapping the ice rink at Rexall Place in 13.370 seconds.
After seven years in Calgary, the Flames handed him over to the Washington Capitals in March 2015 and in return received a second- and a third-round vote for the 2015 NHL Entry Draft . Glencross ended the season with the Capitals, but received no contract beyond that. After he was not firmly committed in two trial training sessions at the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Colorado Avalanche , he announced the end of his playing career in October 2015.
