Dölzig is a district of the Starkenberg community in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia .

location

Dölzig is located with its corridor on the north bank of the Gerstenbach in the Altenburger-Zeitz loess hill country , a branch of the Leipzig lowland bay . The hamlet is 1 kilometer south of Starkenberg and 12 kilometers west of Altenburg on county road 556.

history

In the period from 1181 to 1214 the author was first mentioned in a document, whereas the administration of the municipality goes out from April 1, 1154. In 1181 there were five houses with five families and 37 residents in the hamlet . The Slavic place name means "valley". Dölzig belonged to the Wettin office of Altenburg , which from the 16th century was under the sovereignty of the following Ernestine duchies due to several divisions during its existence : Duchy of Saxony (1554 to 1572), Duchy of Saxony-Weimar (1572 to 1603), Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg (1603 to 1672), Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg (1672 to 1826). When the Ernestine duchies were reorganized in 1826, the place came back to the duchy of Saxony-Altenburg. In 1836 Dölzig was parceled out of Dobitschen and parish off to Mehna in 1840 .

After the administrative reform in the duchy, Dölzig belonged to the eastern district (until 1900) and to the Altenburg district office (from 1900). From 1879 the Altenburg District Court and since 1906 the Meuselwitz District Court were legally responsible for the place. From 1918 the village belonged to the Free State of Saxony-Altenburg , which was added to the State of Thuringia in 1920. In 1922 it came to the district of Altenburg .

Up until around 1950, Dölzig consisted of a water mill, two four-sided courtyards, which were typical for the Altenburg region , and 3 houses. During this time about 37 people lived in Dölzig. On July 1, 1950, Dölzig was incorporated into Starkenberg. During the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the existing states were dissolved and the districts were redesigned. Thus Dölzig came as a district of high mountain with the district Altenburg to the district of Leipzig , which since 1990 belonged to the district Altenburg Thuringia and opened in 1994 Altenburger in the district of the country. In 2012, 15 residents were registered.
