Dörrwalde ( Suchy Gózd in Lower Sorbian ) is a district of the southern Brandenburg town of Großräschen in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district .
geography
Dörrwalde is located in Lower Lusatia . The district Dörrwalde is east of the city of Großräschen. To the northwest is the district of Woschkow . To the southwest lies the newly emerging Großräschener See and south of the Senftenberg district of Sedlitz . To the east, Dörrwalde borders the Großräschen district of Allmosen , and further east, Bahnsdorf is a district of the municipality of New Zealand . The north-east and north-lying places Leeskow and Kunersdorf belong to the same municipality .
history
Local history
In 1410 Dörrwalde was first mentioned in a document as Dorrewalde . It was on Zuckerstrasse that led to Welzow . In 1542 the Dörrwalder windmill was first mentioned in the land tax register.
From 1599 Dörrwalde belonged to the Senftenberg Electoral Office . The village church was built in 1767. As a result of the Congress of Vienna , the office and with it the location came to the Kingdom of Prussia in 1815 . In 1856 Dörrwalde burned down. Then it was rebuilt in stone as an anger village .
The Dörrwalder school building was completed in 1858. In 1902 the place was assigned to the Bergrevier Ost-Cottbus. From 1952 Dörrwalde, which was incorporated into Großräschen in 1974, belonged to the Senftenberg district .

Culture and sights
From 1766 to 1767 the Dörrwalder church was built as a rectangular baroque plastered building. It has a three-sided east end. The 32 meter high west tower, which collapsed in December 1974, was removed. The square substructure of the tower is still preserved. A new tower was built from 2010 to 2011, the topping-out ceremony was on September 21, 2011. The church bells are stored on the roadside. In November 2008 the Teschner organ was inaugurated again. There is exposed peasant painting on the altar.
A number of four-sided courtyards with residential and stable buildings joined together on the street front are characteristic of the townscape. There is also a tower windmill in Dörrwalde . You and the church are among the architectural monuments of the city of Großräschen as well as two farmsteads with farm buildings.
Economy and Infrastructure
The federal road 96 runs south of Dörrwalde and joins the B 169 to the south-east of the village . Dörrwalde is on the Lübbenau – Kamenz railway line .
