Dörte's Dancing is a German comedy film by Rat Pack Filmproduktion and ProSieben Television from 2008. It is part of the Funny Movie series in which various films are parodied. The film is directly related to the 1980s dance film Dirty Dancing .

action

Dörte Brandt has always dreamed of dancing like Baby and Johnny in their all-time favorite film Dirty Dancing . With this wish, she gets on the nerves of everyone around her, but especially her friend Jens, who is absolutely unromantic and doesn't think much of dancing. Nevertheless, he fulfills his Dörte's greatest wish and travels with her to Virginia to the original locations of the film.

Hardly having arrived in the USA , however, a car accident occurs, and suddenly Dörte actually finds herself in the Killerman's Resort (Kellerman's Resort) and thus in the middle of the plot of the film, and everyone takes her for Baby Mouseman (Houseman).

Jimmy (Johnny), the mambo-dancing crush in the film is not missing either and Dörte loses herself in her romantic ideas about him. Unfortunately, nothing else works for Dörte like in the film and so she has to convince rival Ponnie (Penny) herself that she is pregnant and cannot dance with Jimmy. The plan works and Jimmy actually begins to practice dancing with Dörte.

Meanwhile, Jens goes in search of his Dörte and also ends up in the film world. There he finds her in Jimmy's arms and believes she is already lost. He only has one chance; he has to learn to dance and it overtakes Jimmy. Only the jealous Ponnie can help him and the two also begin dance training.

Dörtes romantic final dance is now at stake. Jimmy doesn't want to fall in love with her at all and turns out to be much more realistic than expected and prefers a secure training position to a dance career. But then Jens and Jimmy meet and Dörtes friend has no other thought than to beat up the supposed rival. Finally they both decide to return to Killerman's Resort and dance the famous final dance to (I've had) The Time of my Life with their respective partners . A few interludes from other dance films are also incorporated.

After the final lifting figure, Dörte and Jens find themselves together on the road where Dörte had the accident.
