history
Dürrwangen was first mentioned in 1064 as Durniwach . Dürrwangen originally belonged to the Scherra county . From 1306 on, Lords of Dürrwangen are named.
The manor was divided early on and passed to the Counts of Zollern and Lords of Bubenhofen . Walter von Ramsberg bought a farm in Dürrwangen from the Tierbergers in 1327. The legal successors of those von Bubenhofen were the Lords of Stotzingen . In 1533 they sold their share to Württemberg , to which the Zoller part of Dürrwangen had belonged since 1403. Dürrwangen was subordinate to the Office Balingen, which in 1758 was elevated to the Oberamt Balingen and from 1806 was expanded to become part of the Kingdom of Württemberg .
Dürrwangen came to the district in 1934 and from 1938 with Frommern to the Balingen district , which became part of the newly formed Zollernalb district during the district reform in 1973.
In 1937 Dürrwangen was incorporated into Frommern and has since been co-administered by Frommern .
