The DB Museum Halle (Saale) is a branch of the Nuremberg Transport Museum in the city of Halle (Saale) .

Museum buildings

The vehicles on display are in the roundhouse IV of the former railway depot housed P Hall. Today's roundhouse was built from 1895 and initially had nine stands (today stand 9-17). New and at the same time larger locomotives soon made it necessary to expand the shed. In 1908 eight stands (today stand 1–8) with longer tracks and work pits as well as a central smoke evacuation system with two chimneys were added. Today's turntable was built by the Windhoff machine factory in 1929 and reconstructed in 1987. The bridge is 23 meters long.

  • a copy of the DR series 243 , the 243 005-6 built in 1984
  • the E 95 02 of the DR series E 95 ; this is the last copy of this series
  • from the DR series E 44 the E 44 108 (built in 1939)
  • the 142 255-9 from the DR series E 42 (built in 1976)

Further exhibition components

In the roundhouse of the museum there are also a number of other exhibits on signaling and locomotive technology. These include oil switches , expansion switches , compressed air circuit breakers, compressed air quick switches, vacuum circuit breakers, the drive switch of a BR E 44, various relays , the drive motor of a BR E 11, the wheel tire blank of the DR 18 201 and a microcomputer-controlled ticket machine (MFA) of the Reichsbahn . Form and light signals from different times are part of the exhibition. The drive wheel set of 04 0015 (DR series 19.0 (Reko)) , which was retired in 1976, is now on the turntable of the museum.

In addition, there is a permanent exhibition in the museum about the VES-M Halle test and development center for mechanical engineering and its director Max Baumberg .

All vehicles of the museum are from the BSW group Traditionsgemeinschaft in Halle P depot maintained. The museum is usually open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
